Installation

The AOC 15/50 has been installed around the world. To date, projects have been completed in Canada, the United States, the Caribbean, Ireland, Scotland, Russia, and India. Remote community projects include Rankin Inlet (Nunavut), Sachs Harbour (Northwest Territories), Big Trout Lake (northern Ontario), Blind River (Ontario) and North Cape (PEI).

Once you order an AOC 15/50 and have all required electrical permits, utility approvals and zoning and other government approvals, the steps for installation include:

  Foundation

• A geotechnical survey is conducted in order to design foundation suitable for each site.
• The foundationis designed based on the geotechnical survey.
• Local contractors install the concrete foundation to the specifications of the foundation design.

 

Electrical

• A basic diagram and basic electrical components except for the wiring are provided and an electrician hooks up the wiring.
• A tower is designed and built specifically for the wind conditions at your site
• Typically, everything is assembled and then one lift of the crane raises the turbine
